Minimum qualifications

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

  • Computer Science

  • Telecommunications
  • Equivalent related field

Required experience

Applicants must have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of project or delivery management experience in technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following sectors:
    • Fintech
    • Mobile money
    • Digital banking
    • Telecom

Your profile

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in technical delivery, digital financial services platforms, vendor coordination, and multi-country programme execution.

Applicants should have:

  • Hands-on technical delivery experience on core wallet, core banking, or payments platforms.
  • Proven track record running technical workstreams within larger transformation programmes, including:
    • Integration delivery
    • Data migration
  • Experience managing tier-1 vendor delivery teams alongside third-party integrators.
  • Experience in African markets is preferred.
  • Experience in multi-country delivery is an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of delivery methodologies, including:
    • Agile
    • Scrum
    • Kanban
    • Waterfall
    • Hybrid delivery models
  • Ability to choose the right delivery approach depending on the context.

Your challenges

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering assigned technical workstreams within broader transformation programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain the detailed technical project plan for assigned workstreams.
  • Integrate the assigned technical project plan into the overall programme plan owned by the Programme Director.
  • Identify, document, and actively manage dependencies within the workstream and across other workstreams, including:
    • Product
    • Compliance
    • Data
    • Distribution
    • Operations
    • Customer Care
  • Coordinate Core Wallet delivery teams and third-party vendors on a daily basis.
  • Track Statement of Work deliverables, milestones, and SLA adherence.
  • Maintain Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies logs.
  • Drive mitigation actions to closure.
  • Plan and orchestrate testing cycles in coordination with QA, vendors, and business unit teams, including:
    • System Integration Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing
    • Performance testing
    • Security testing
  • Maintain accurate project artefacts, including:
    • Project plans
    • RAID logs
    • Decision logs
    • Action logs
    • Meeting minutes
    • Change records
  • Manage resource onboarding, allocation, and offboarding across the workstream, including:
    • Internal staff
    • Contractors
    • Vendor resources
