We currently have an exciting career opportunity for the role of System Analyst– Information Technology, Jubilee Life Insurance, Tanzania. The position reports administratively and technically to the IT Manager.

Role Purpose

The analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing application solutions to solve business problems and to make business operations more efficient. The individual is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging new functionality, enhancements, customizations, interfaces, batch processes, queries, and reports. The role will also be expected to optimize systems performance, ensure operational efficiency, maintain regulatory and audit compliance and any other duties allocated by the business.

Responsibilities or duties

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide functional and technical support for Oracle E-Business Suite R12 modules such as AP, AR, GL, PO, iProcurement, Fixed Assets, and others as required
  • Monitor and validate data in staging tables before importing transactions into Oracle EBS modules (e.g., Payables, Receivables, GL).
  • Execute and troubleshoot standard Oracle import programs (such as Payables Open Interface, AR AutoInvoice, Journal Import) to successfully move transactions from staging to base tables.
  • Investigate and resolve interface errors by analyzing error tables, correcting data issues, and reprocessing failed transactions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues by analyzing application problems, identifying root causes, and providing timely solutions.
  • Manage service requests (SRs) with Oracle Support, ensuring issues are logged, tracked, and resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Perform application setups, configurations, and maintenance for supported modules based on business requirements.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities by ensuring application availability and resolving financial module issues.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries/scripts for data extraction, issue diagnosis, and reporting support.
  • Coordinate with business users and technical teams (DBA/Developers) for enhancements, patches, and system upgrades.
  • Test and validate patches, enhancements, and customizations before deployment to production.
  • Prepare and maintain functional and technical documentation, including process flows, issue logs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies, SLAs, and change management procedures while delivering application support services.
  • Provide functional and technical support for integrations around Oracle E-Business Suite

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability – Skilled in diagnosing application issues, performing root-cause analysis, and providing effective, timely resolutions to user and system problems.
  • Technical Proficiency in SQL & Reporting – Experienced in developing and executing SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, reconciliation, and issue investigation.
  • System Maintenance & Change Management – Competent in testing, validating, and implementing patches, enhancements, and upgrades while adhering to IT policies, SLAs, and change control procedures.

  • Experience in query optimization and performance tuning (PL/SQL)
  • Working knowledge of WebLogic 12C/14C.
