Call For Expressions Of Interest (EOI)

SNV Office in Dar es Salaam is seeking expressions of interest from registered local businesses and/or non-profit organizations to supply electric cooking (e-cooking) products to partners of the Energising Development (EnDev) programme.

1. Introduction

SNV is a mission-driven global development partner working in more than 20 countries across Africa and Asia. We strengthen capacities and catalyse partnerships that transform the agri-food, energy, and water systems, which enable sustainable and more equitable lives for all.

SNV is the implementing agency of the Energising Development (EnDev) programme in Tanzania, a multi-donor partnership, funded by the governments of Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland. EnDev Tanzania for the 2023-2025 period focuses on the development of markets and sustainable supply of improved cook stoves (ICS) and e- cooking technologies.

2. Background

Under the EnDev Tanzania programme, SNV is supporting local partners including Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) and solar energy suppliers to create awareness, promote, sell, and finance e-cooking products across the country. SNV seeks to link our partners with quality-verified suppliers of e-cooking products to increase access to clean cooking in Tanzania in accordance with the Government of Tanzania’s national Clean Cooking agenda. The Programme expects that over the course of one year at least 3,000 e- cooking product units will be purchased by our partners.

3. E-Cooking Product Specifications

Electric Pressure Cookers (EPC) to be supplied must meet Verasol quality assurance for Electric Pressure Cookers (as featured via their website:

https://data.verasol.org/products/epc). Other products listed in the table below must be in compliance with Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) and ISO certification for electric cooking quality provisions (e.g., brands such as Panasonic, Sharp, Philips, Samsung, LG, Simper, Hitachi, etc.).
