Job Summary:
The Site Foreman is the hands-on leader on the ground, working alongside the crew to ensure the supervisor's and project manager's plans are executed correctly. They are responsible for the direct oversight of a specific work crew or trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crew Management: Provide immediate direction to a crew of workers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and materials.
- Hands-On Work: Perform skilled tasks alongside the crew and provide on-the-job training and guidance.
- Plan Implementation: Follow project plans and specifications to ensure work is done accurately.
- Site Organization: Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe. Manage the storage of materials and tools on site.
- Quality Inspection: Conduct initial quality checks on the crew's work before supervisor review.
- Communication: Relay daily progress, issues, and needs from the crew to the Supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant experience (5+ years) as a skilled tradesperson in the relevant field (e.g., carpentry, masonry, civil works).
- 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or foreman role.
- In-depth, practical knowledge of their trade and construction techniques.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
