UmojaSwitch (Umoja) is a shared network of electronic payment and electronic fund transfer channels that interconnects banks together with other service providers. Within Umoja ecosystem, commercial banks, microfinance banks, SACCOS, MNOs, aggregators, government institutions, billers, utility companies etc. are integrated to create a total interoperability. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations, we are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and ethical individual to join our team as a Senior Finance Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. • Maintain complete and up-to-date financial records, ensuring timely posting of transactions and vouchers.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts regularly, ensuring adherence to internal financial controls.
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, including timely processing of invoices and follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Support the preparation, forecasting, and monitoring of organizational budgets.
- Ensure full compliance with tax regulations and statutory obligations, including preparation and submission of TRA returns and other statutory deductions.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions as needed.
- Process payroll and reconcile payroll-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare end-of-month schedules, including accruals and prepayments, to support the monthly closing process.
- Manage company liquidity.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience in a finance or accounting role.
- CPA/ACCA qualification or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
