The Sales and Marketing Officer is responsible for promoting and selling air tickets, tourism packages, and other travel-related services. The role involves customer engagement, market research, partnership development, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to maximize sales performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Proactively sell air tickets and tourism packages to individuals, travel agencies, and corporate clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer retention.
  • Identify new business opportunities and establish partnerships with hotels, tour operators, and other travel service providers.
  • Negotiate deals with corporate clients to increase bulk ticket sales and travel service subscriptions.

2. Marketing & Promotions

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote ticket sales and tourism packages.
  • Organize promotional campaigns, digital marketing initiatives, and social media advertisements to boost customer reach.
  • Represent the company at travel expos, industry conferences, and networking events.

3. Customer Service & Client Relations

  • Provide excellent customer service by handling inquiries, assisting with bookings, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Offer professional advice on flight schedules, fares, visa requirements, and travel regulations.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate complex issues to management when necessary.

4. Market Research & Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences to refine sales approaches.
  • Monitor airline pricing structures and recommend competitive pricing models.
  • Gather client feedback and use insights to improve service offerings.

5. Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales performance, marketing activities, and revenue generation.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper invoicing and payment tracking.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, or travel consultancy.
  • Knowledge of airline ticketing systems such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre is an added advantage.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and business development abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Customer service excellence and professionalism in handling client issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.

Language Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is an added advantage.
