Taasisi ya Chakula na Lishe Tanzania (TFNC) is seeking to fill 2 positions for a Research Assistant (Medicine).

Responsibilities or duties

• To assist in the field data collection, Computer data entry, and analysis and gathering of relevant literature under the close supervision of Senior Researchers;
• To assist in disseminating food and nutrition information including Publications, Mass media, Interpersonal communication, educational programs, public service announcements, preparation of printed materials and online resources;
• To prepare and submit a technical report to the respective Supervisor;
• To prepare and submit a draft manuscript, books, technical reports, training materials, guidelines, and protocol for publication to the respective Supervisor for review;
• To assist in drafting guidelines, data collection tools and protocols;
• To make a presentation of the research findings at local seminars and workshops;
• To conduct literature, search, and prepare research materials for writing research manuscripts, books, technical reports, training materials, guidelines, and protocol for publications;
• To train and supervise other Junior Researchers;
• To assist in preparing research progress reports according to the respective work plans;
• To assist in the planning of specific research projects;
• To assist in preparing fundable research proposals and Consultancies; and
• To perform any other official duties as may be assigned by one’s supervisor

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Holder of a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of upper second class (or an overall minimum pass of grade B+ for a classified Degree (Doctor of Medicine) in Medicine from a recognized Institution.

• Assist in the field data collection, Computer data entry, and analysis and gathering of relevant literature under the close supervision of Senior Researchers.
