Job purpose

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating local and international procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing and delivery of quality goods and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with company procurement procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of goods and services, ensuring the right quality, price, and timely delivery.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate with, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor procurement spending and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve value for money.
• Track imported goods and coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate procurement and inventory records to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Maintain accurate procurement data in relevant systems and prepare regular reports using Excel and other tools.
• Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies and that required purchasing documents are properly maintained.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or related field.
• Experience in tracking imports/shipments.
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
• Strong track record of cost control.
• Proficient with procurement/inventory systems and Excel.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and reliable.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
