TUNDURU DISTRICT COUNCIL
Responsibilities or duties
- Provide all hospital medical services related to different diseases in their area of specialization.
- Plan, supervise and monitor health services at district or regional level.
- Train students from health training institutions attached to the workplace.
- Investigate, monitor and control disease outbreaks.
- Prepare continuing education programs for health workers.
- Train and supervise subordinate staff.
- Supervise subordinate employees.
- Design, conduct and supervise research and disseminate findings.
- Prepare and develop strategies for improving service quality in their professional field.
- Provide outreach services.
- Provide medico-legal services.
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of Government health policies and plans.
- Advise the Ministry on the implementation of primary health care activities.
- Participate in Medical Board committees to assess employees with health-related challenges.
- Prepare continuing education curricula for health personnel.
- Prepare health service plans and budget estimates.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor relevant to their education, experience and skills.
Qualifications or requirements
- Applicants must possess a Degree in Medicine (Doctor of Medicine) from a recognized institution accredited by the Government and be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
- Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should clearly indicate their disability.
- Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a reliable postal address, telephone number, email address, and the names of three referees.
- Applications must include certified copies of academic and professional certificates, including Form IV and Form VI certificates, Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificate qualifications, Computer Certificates, and professional certificates from the respective professional boards where applicable.
- Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, Form IV and Form VI result slips will not be accepted and applicants submitting them will not proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
- Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTVET).
- Public servants should apply through their employers in accordance with the approval of the Permanent Secretary responsible for Public Service.
- Applicants who have previously worked in the Public Service and were dismissed or resigned should attach the relevant documents in accordance with Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
- Applicants found to have provided false information or qualifications will be subject to legal action.
- Applicants whose names differ from those appearing in their academic certificates must attach a Deed Poll certified by the Ministry responsible for Lands.
