Background

TAZAMA Pipelines Limited is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair main pump and generator prime movers within the Tanzania Region in order to enhance their efficiency, safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring & Evaluation: Undertakes effectively the monitoring and evaluation of Main Pumps and Generator prime movers in order to facilitate interventions.
• Planned Maintenance: Undertakes efficiently the implementation of periodic inspections and preventive maintenance in order to ensure their working order.
• Corrective Maintenance: Undertakes timely investigations of causes for equipment failures and repairs in case of breakdowns in order to prevent disruptions of operations
• Custody of Tools and Materials: Undertakes effectively safe custody of spares and tools for the section in order to prevent damage and losses.
• Record Keeping: Undertakes timely, the compilation of preventive and corrective maintenance documentation in order to retain a record for the section.
• Work Sites: Ensures regularly good housekeeping of work sites in order to eliminate hazards and ensure safety of staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Form IV Certificate
• Advanced Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair
• Member of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)

• Computer Literacy
• Able to write technical reports
• Able to communicate in English
• Troubleshooting skills
• Team working skills
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English and Swahili

Minimum Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
