Job Summary:
The Head of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the company's strategic procurement vision. This role leads the entire procurement function, focusing on cost reduction, supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, and ensuring the timely supply of high-quality goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement a centralized procurement strategy aligned with the company's financial and operational goals.
- Vendor Management: Establish and manage a strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) program. Lead contract negotiations with key suppliers to secure optimal terms.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the entire procurement team, including Purchase Managers and Coordinators.
- Cost Management: Drive significant cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing, tendering, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Policy & Compliance: Develop and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards across the organization. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to supplier stability, geopolitical issues, and price volatility.
- Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement function, such as savings achieved, supplier performance, and process efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Finance. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in developing procurement strategy and delivering substantial cost savings.
- Strong negotiation, contract law, and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
