Background
United African Technical College (UATC) provides Christian values-based technical education to equip students with knowledge, practical skills, and good character so that they can become outstanding leaders in Tanzania and around the world. For this, we are seeking two highly skilled and experienced professionals in computing and information technology who can join the faculty in our Science and Technology team beginning October 1, 2026. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching students in computing and information technology, business information technology, and other related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach modules (up to NTA level 6) in computing and information technology and business information technology.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction using modern teaching methods and practical examples.
- Provide academic and professional guidance to students on computing and ICT related assignments, fieldwork, and project development.
- Encourage critical thinking and practical skill development among students in computing and information technology.
- Provide mentorship to students for their spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and character formation.
- In close consultation with the head of the department, organize and oversee extracurricular projects such as student clubs, community service initiatives, and industry networking events.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new short courses and other advanced learning opportunities that are aligned with the NACTVET standards and regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development, research, and knowledge sharing in computing and information technology.
- Performe any other duties assigned by the supervisor or college administration as appropriate to the role.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in computing and information technology or other related fields (GPA 3.5 or above).
- A valid teacher training license or a Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) certificate.
- Two or more years of teaching experience in a NACTVET-recognized academic institution will be an added advantage (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
