About the Program
This Program is JamiiAfrica’s structured talent pipeline for high-potential early-career professionals. Selected candidates join for an initial six (6)-month period and receive:
- An attractive monthly allowance, plus contribution-based incentives tied to agreed deliverables;
- Direct mentorship from senior team members and a personal learning plan;
- Structured performance reviews at the mid-point and end of the placement;
- A certificate of completion and a professional reference;
- A pathway to employment: Interns and volunteers who demonstrate exceptional performance and organizational fit receive priority consideration for permanent positions as they become available. Participation does not constitute an offer or guarantee of employment.
Open Tracks
Selected candidates join a specialized track and collaborate across departments to advance JamiiAfrica’s mission:
- Data & Insights: Track engagement and participation metrics; analyze community questions and emerging information needs; and help build internal dashboards that inform organizational decisions (1 post)
Ideal Qualifications
- Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Communications, Political Science, Development Studies, Sociology, Statistics or Data Science, Graphic Design, Project Management, ICT, or a related field;
- Demonstrated passion for online community engagement, civic technology, and social impact;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency in both Swahili and English.

- Monitor platform and digital trends to identify misleading claims in civic conversations; conduct verification research using open sources and expert data; and prepare clear, well-documented verification summaries to help communities assess the information they encounter
- Support data-informed engagement roadmaps and campaign calendars; research community trends across channels; and help define tone-of-voice and messaging guidelines for civic initiatives
- Draft citizen-centric campaign and community education materials; collaborate with the design and strategy teams to translate complex governance issues into accessible formats; and help surface and amplify community voices and lived experiences
- Design branded digital assets, infographics, and campaign collateral; translate complex datasets and policy summaries into clear, engaging visuals; and ensure all materials align with JamiiAfrica’s brand and accessibility standards
- Manage day-to-day interactions across JamiiAfrica’s digital channels (scheduling, posting, and interactive features); facilitate safe, constructive discourse in comment sections and community spaces; and identify trending civic conversations that keep JamiiAfrica at the forefront of public dialogue
- Track engagement and participation metrics; analyze community questions and emerging information needs; and help build internal dashboards that inform organizational decisions
- Assist project leads with planning, timelines, and deliverables; coordinate logistics for campaigns, webinars, and community dialogues; and maintain digital project workspaces
- Collect performance metrics; gather qualitative community feedback and quantitative data; and help prepare periodic MEL summaries and learning briefs to guide strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in both Swahili and English
- Passion for online community engagement, civic technology, and social impact
