Role Summary

Green Bird Schools is looking for a versatile and knowledgeable Computer Tutor to join our faculty in Arusha. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between theoretical computer science and practical IT skills, ensuring our students are proficient in networking, hardware, and modern software applications.

Key Responsibilities

ICT Instruction: Deliver engaging lessons covering the core ICT curriculum, focusing on both theory and practical application.

Networking Fundamentals: Teach students the basics of network topology, IP addressing, and how the internet functions.

Software Applications: Provide expert-level training in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and other essential productivity tools.

Lab Management: Oversee the school’s computer lab, ensuring all workstations and network connections are functioning correctly.

Technical Projects: Guide students through hands-on projects such as basic PC assembly, troubleshooting, and simple network setup.

Digital Citizenship: Educate students on cybersecurity, online ethics, and the impact of technology on society.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Computer Engineering.

Technical Expertise: * Strong understanding of Networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Routers, Switches).

Advanced proficiency in Computer Applications.

Basic knowledge of hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.

Language: Fluency in English and Swahili is required.

Teaching Ability: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to simplify technical jargon for younger learners.

Preferred Attributes

Previous experience teaching in a secondary or international school setting.

Current residency in or near Arusha.
