DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive Chinese language lessons suitable for primary school learners (ages 5–14), aligned with NECTA curriculum or equivalent.
- Teach fundamental language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing — with emphasis on pinyin pronunciation, vocabulary, simple characters, and everyday conversation.
- Design age-appropriate lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials to enhance learning and student engagement.
- Use songs, stories, games, visual aids, and interactive activities to make lessons enjoyable, culturally enriching, and effective for young learners.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and language practice.
- Prepare, administer, and grade assessments, and provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in language clubs, school cultural events, and co-curricular activities to promote Chinese language and culture.
- Uphold classroom management, safeguarding policies, professional ethics, and school standards in line with Tanzanian law.
Note: All fee collections must strictly follow the school’s financial policies (segregation of duties, official receipts, daily banking, and reconciliation with the Accounts/Finance Office). Any discrepancies must be reported immediately to the Bursar/Head of School.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Certificate, Diploma, or above in Chinese Language Education, Teaching, Language Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience teaching Chinese language at primary school level, with demonstrated learner progress/outcomes.
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese with strong knowledge of pinyin, basic grammar, and teaching strategies for young learners.
- Experience using creative, interactive, and digital teaching methods to engage primary students.
- Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English (or Swahili), high integrity, and strong commitment to student learning.
- Passion for early childhood education and the ability to create an inspiring language learning environment.
