Job Description

Kriishi Green Transport Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Transport Manager to support the effective coordination and management of its transport operations in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will work closely with the Transport Manager to oversee daily transport activities, coordinate drivers, monitor fleet performance, and ensure vehicles are available and operating efficiently.

The position also involves controlling fuel consumption and operational costs, monitoring vehicle movements and routes, maintaining transport records, and supporting compliance with safety and company policies. It is suitable for candidates with substantial experience in transport or logistics, particularly those who have previously worked in supervisory or management roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating and supervising daily transport operations.
  • Monitor vehicle movements, schedules and assigned routes.
  • Monitor driver performance and ensure drivers follow operational requirements.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and available when required.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and vehicle utilisation.
  • Track and control transport operational costs.
  • Support compliance with transport, safety and company policies.
  • Coordinate with drivers, clients and other departments to ensure smooth transport operations.
  • Assist in resolving transport-related operational challenges.
  • Prepare and maintain transport reports and operational records.
  • Monitor fleet performance and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Support the Transport Manager in improving operational efficiency.
  • Assist in developing measures to reduce unnecessary transport costs.
  • Use fleet and GPS tracking systems to monitor vehicles and transport activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Transport and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in transportation or logistics.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management position is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of fleet management and transport operations.
  • Knowledge of fleet and GPS tracking systems.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and operational priorities.
  • Responsible and organised approach to work.
  • Results-oriented approach to transport management.
