Description
Financial Record-Keeping
- Record daily transactions related to loan disbursements, repayments, and operating expenses.
- Maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile accounts regularly.
- Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns (PAYE, SDL, withholding tax, corporate tax).
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations.
- Monitor deadlines for tax submissions and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary tax-related records.
Payments & Invoicing
- Process supplier invoices and staff expense claims.
- Oversee payment schedules to vendors and service providers.
- Support payroll processing, ensuring statutory deductions/contributions (PAYE, NSSF, WCF) are accurate.
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing management reports for Eleving Group ( Mogo’s parent company).
- Provide financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Track loan portfolio performance and highlight irregularities.
Operational Support
- Liaise with internal teams (sales, customer service, collections) to ensure financial accuracy in loan transactions.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents for easy retrieval.
- Support implementation of accounting software and digital finance tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Tanzanian financial regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software preferred SAP by design, quickbooks
- CPA certification is an added advantage.
- Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance preferred
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Technical: Strong accounting knowledge, proficiency in Excel and accounting software, understanding of Tanzanian tax laws, and payroll/statutory compliance.
- Analytical: Good numerical skills, attention to detail, ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Communication: Clear professional communication, teamwork, and stakeholder liaison skills.
- Organizational: Strong time management, ability to meet deadlines, and maintain proper documentation.
- Professional: Integrity, ethical conduct, commitment to continuous learning; CPA certification is an added advantage.
