Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Air Ticketing and Reservation Officer for a travel and tourism company in Dar es Salaam. The role is responsible for managing flight bookings, reservations, and ticketing services for clients, ensuring accurate processing of all travel requests, excellent customer service delivery, and full compliance with airline regulations and company procedures. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of airline reservation systems, a professional client-handling approach, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced travel environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle flight bookings, reservations, and ticket issuance using approved airline reservation systems, ensuring all booking details and travel documentation are accurately processed at all times.
  • Provide clients with available flight options, fares, and travel schedules, offering tailored travel advice and solutions that meet each client's specific needs and preferences.
  • Process ticket re-issuance, cancellations, and refunds in accordance with airline policies and IATA regulations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transaction handling.
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, handling complaints and resolving booking related issues efficiently to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Promote airline and travel related services to clients, prepare quotations, follow up on travel inquiries, and support the achievement of sales targets through effective client engagement.
  • Liaise with airlines, agents, and service providers to confirm bookings, monitor ticketing time limits, booking deadlines, and schedule changes to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate processing of all travel requests and smooth end to end service delivery for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all bookings, transactions, and client details, preparing daily and periodic sales and booking reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of all travel documents and invoices, maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy in all records management activities at all times.
  • Verify passenger details and applicable travel requirements including visas and travel restrictions where relevant, ensuring full compliance with airline policies and company procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Travel and Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in airline ticketing such as IATA or UFTAA is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of airline reservation systems such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre is preferred.
  • Understanding of fare structures, ticketing rules, and airline policies is preferred.
  • Strong client handling, communication, and customer service skills are recommended.
  • Ability to promote travel services, convert inquiries into bookings, and support sales targets is recommended.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email systems, and reservation platforms is recommended.
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to maintain proper booking and financial records is recommended.
  • Professional, reliable, and detail oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is recommended.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling client and company information is recommended.
