Introduction to TAHA and Vijana Kilimo Biashara (VKB) Project

Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) is an apex member based private sector orga­nization that advocates for the growth and competitiveness of the horticulture industry in Tanzania. Since its inception in 2004, TAHA has been an effective voicing platform for producers, traders, exporters, and processors of horticultural products mainly; flowers, fruits, vegetables, horticultural seeds, and spices. The Association safeguards the inter­ests of industry stakeholders and ensures industry issues are well represented within national and international agendas. TAHA is implementing a project namely Vijana Kilimo Biashara (VKB) funded by the World Food Programme (WFP) Tanzania. The project intends to ensure over 70% of the targeted 7,000 small holder farmers, especially women and youth engaged in tomato, onion, and horticulture value chain to sustainably increase income, become food resil­ient, secure job, and have a market share in Arusha and Manyara by December 31st, 2024.

Overall Objective:

TAHA through VKB Project has set aside a budget to solicit and engage an eligible and qualified supplier to supply various building materials to facilitate the construction of the Carrots Washing Facility and Irrigation Trenches at Sura and Kiyasi villages respectively.

Clarification on the Advert:

• All correspondence related to the RFQ shall be made in English
• Should there be any uncertainty, the Bidder shall seek clarification in writing through e- mail to: procurement@taha.or.tz
• Any clarification sought by the bidder in respect to this advert shall be titled CLARIFICATION ON RFQ – SUPPLY OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS.
• TAHA will only respond to requests for clarification received no later than Monday, September 2, 2024.
