Internship Opportunity
Position: Public Relations Intern Location: Arusha
Compassion International is a Christian child development and advocacy ministry pairing compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty to release the children from poverty. In Tanzania, we work with more than 550 church partners across 21 regions. Compassion International Tanzania is currently seeking a junior specialist to fill the position of Public Relations Intern.

Job brief
We are seeking a Public Relations Intern, who is full of creative ideas and eager to contribute on a large scale. The intern will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the public relations within Compassion International, provide concrete deliverables and learn from top to bottom. The one-year internship will help develop your professional aptitude, strengthen your personal character, and provide a greater door to opportunity especially in public relations field. Public Relations Intern responsibilities include:
• Support development and roll-out of CIT strategy specifically on public relations part
• Assist media visibility efforts through building and updating media lists and databases, support media field visits and drafting press releases, speeches etc
• Support generation of content for internal and external publications including internal newsletter; report production, factsheets, calendars, diaries etc.
• Develop resources as part of documentation (i.e. success stories, shooting and editing videos and photos).
• Create contents for CIT organizational website and other social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Requirements and skills
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
• Recent bachelor’s degree Graduate in Media Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or any other related field.
• Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
• Solid understanding of the different social media networks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Efficiency at Video and Photo editing software such as InDesign etc is an added advantage
