JOB DETAILS:
Power Plant DCS Operator

Experience Required: 1 to 3 years of field experience in operating DCS panels, boilers, and steam turbines, along with maintenance skills. Experience in coal-based thermal power plants with AFBC boilers is highly desirable.

Education: Full-time VETA certification, preferably as a Boiler Technician (VETA ONLY).

Key Skills Required:
• Boiler & Turbine Repair: Skilled in major repair activities, including boiler and turbine overhauling.
• AFBC Boiler Start-Up: Proficient in cold and hot start-up of AFBC boilers from both the DCS panel and the field.
• Emergency Management: Experience handling operational emergencies, such as plant blackouts, system failures, and sudden load drops.
• Breakdown Handling: Ability to manage breakdowns, including bed coil puncture, bed coil replacement, and boiler hydro testing.
• Troubleshooting: Knowledgeable in troubleshooting both boiler and DCS panel issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Shift Operation Management:
• Oversee and execute shift operational activities in a thermal power generation unit.
• Plan load management and drive stoppages as needed, troubleshooting operational issues as they arise.
Routine Checks and Reporting:
• Conduct routine checks, coordinate with field operators, and complete minor maintenance tasks.
• Ensure environmental compliance and maintain a safe, continuous power supply to the cement plant.
Emergency Handling:
• Handle emergency situations in boiler and turbine operations to minimize power stoppages.
Monitoring and Control:
• Regularly monitor coal bunker levels, fly ash/bed ash silo levels, and raw water tank levels.
• Take corrective action promptly when needed.
Documentation:
• Complete daily log sheets and maintain an updated shift log book with critical parameters, key activities, and any pending tasks.
• Record hourly changes in equipment operation and document any operational disturbances.
