Unitrans Tanzania Limited has the following exciting opportunity at Kilombero and Kilosa Districts, Morogoro Region where it is subcontracted for various agricultural operations in the sugar industry.

We are currently looking for a suitably qualified, and experienced individual to fill the following posts.

DRIVER TRAINER (01)

Job purpose
To conduct prescribed in-house training courses for drivers and operators and monitor results of same.

Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct training:
• Provide on-job training to operators and drivers.
• Demonstrate machine management techniques to operators.
• Conduct time and efficiency check to work instructions as issued by the customer from time to time.
Safety functions:
• To perform monthly inspections of your workplace, using the checklist provided to identify any hazards or potential hazards.
• To ensure no machinery is allowed to operate unless it has the required and relevant machine licenses.
• To ensure all Safety, Health, and Environmental Representatives are in place and performing their respective duties.
• To participate in an incident and accident machinery and equipment checklist and ensure that the necessary checks are conducted when an incident or accident occurs.
• To ensure that the findings recorded in the inspection provided.
• To ensure all Safety, Health, and Environmental Representatives are in place and performing their respective duties.
• To familiarize yourself with the requirements of the Occupational and Safety Act, and regulations that apply at your workplace and ensure that you comply with these requirements.
Administrative functions:
• Prepare monthly and daily reporting of job training.
• Control onsite fuel and oil usage.
Customer intimacy:
• Ensure and maintain ongoing operational relationships with customers.
• Seek ways to add value to customer supply chains.
• Liaise with customers and support service levels.
• Pro-actively adapt to customer needs.

Required qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of secondary education with excellent English proficiency.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a driver trainer.
• Certificate in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience in vehicles particularly lorry-long haul vehicles and grader/excavator/bell loader.
• Valid driving license with the following classes: E, G, F.
• Well conversant with the Tanzania Road Traffic Act and regulations.
• Age not more than 45 years old.
