JOB DETAILS:
The Accounting Intern will be responsible for general accounting and expense control duties. They will assist Foundation Accountant with general accounting functions including maintaining the general ledger, performing accounts receivable tasks and revenue reconciliations.

Responsibilities:
1. Match invoices to checks, credit card bills, and cash receivable accordingly
2. Reconcile customer statements, research and correct discrepancies
3. Bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
4. Assist in maintaining and closing the Foundation’s general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, review of the general ledger, investigation of errors and anomalies, and preparation of account reconciliations and analysis.
5. Facilitate evaluation of internal controls and financial reporting
6. Audit Accommodation expenses and pre-process vendor payments
7. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Foundation policy and accepted accounting practices
8. Assist in month end closing
9. Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications:
1. Working towards a diploma or degree in Finance or Accounting
2. Ability to use MS Office with Proficiency in MS Excel.
3. Ability to communicate and work with all levels of management and staff.
4. Experience with some Accounting software is desired.
5. Exposure or experience using accounting packages i.e., Tally, Quick books, Oracle etc.
