Responsibilities or duties,
- To recommend on registration and de-registration of Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS)
- To review compliance of licensed SACCOS with Cooperative Societies Legislations;
- To review and recommend on SACCOS license applications;
- To perform off-site and on-site supervision of Licensed SACCOS;
- To recommend for approval licensed SACCOS branch formation and relocation of business places;
- To recommend for approval of the Licensed SACCOS to open or operate agencies or outlets;
- To participate in administration of supervisory sanctions or penalties for non-compliant Licensed SACCOS with relevant legislation;
- To review enforcement of SACCOS Regulations and ensure their compliance;
- To participate in administration of supervisory sanctions or penalties to non-complying registered SACCOS;
- To collect and review off-site and on-site supervisory reports of registered SACCOS;
- To participate in overseeing accounts and operations of liquidators of registered SACCOS;
- To sensitize the implementation of Cooperative Development Documents including Policies and guidelines;
- To supervise election process for primary and financial Cooperative societies leaders
- To perform all other duties relating to regulating or promoting Cooperative Societies; and
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),
- Bachelor Degree in Microfinance, Banking, Banking and Microfinance or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
