JOB DETAILS:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Design livestock production plans in the district;
ii.Coordinate livestock production on small and large livestock farms;
iii. Help coordinate extension plans related to livestock production in the district;
iv. Coordinate and conduct training on good animal husbandry and processing of livestock products for livestock experts and livestock keepers;
v. Conducting reviews and adjustments to livestock market infrastructure in his district and region;
vi. Design, initiate and implement livestock development projects in the district;
vii. Conduct a resource survey (e.g. livestock, animal feed, pastures, etc.) in his/her area of work;
viii. Conduct training for agents, sellers and experts on safe methods in storing and distributing livestock inputs;
ix. Researching new areas suitable for raising various livestock;
x. Conduct an assessment of environmental damage caused by livestock farming in the district;
xi.Participate in activities to control outbreaks of animals/organisms that damage pastures;
xii. Monitoring, compiling, analysing and interpreting livestock production statistics;
xiii Prepare a general report on livestock development;
xiv. To perform other duties related to his/her field as directed by his/her superior.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Employment of holders of a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science or Agricultural Science with a specialization in Animal Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture or an equivalent qualification from another university recognized by the Government.
